Some of the best Italian food in Vietnam
I have been to Ciao Bella several times before, most of the times for dinner. Today I wanted to spoil myself with a nice lunch so we headed over there to make this Monday feel less like a Monday.
We were a bit unlucky as the power had been cut on the whole street when we arrived, but the staff was well prepared and explained exactly which dishes they could make without electricity, and also said that they could guide us to another restaurant in the area with the same owner. They even had the menu for the other restaurant in hand.
We decided to stay at Ciao Bella as they could make salads, pasta and dessert which was exactly what was needed. I paid 225,000₫ for a three course lunch including ice tea. I selected a Ceasar salad, Penne Ciao Bella and a chocolate cake with cream as my three courses.
The salad was a bit small even for a starter, but the massive pasta more than made up for it. I have found that they are especially good at dishes with chicken, and Penne Ciao Bella is penne with chicken, wild mushrooms, sundried tomato and a pink cream sauce. The pasta was perfectly "al dente", the chicken was juicy and the sauce was full of flavour. Today's dessert was not as good as the ones I have tried previously here, but delicious nonetheless.
I would give the food itself a strong 4 star rating, but together with the attentive service I have to give the whole experience 5 stars. This is some of the best Italian food I have had in Vietnam, and the service of both the staff and manager is consistently at a very high level.
